Lost and Found Promises

I believe with all of my heart that our testimonies are not just cool things that happen to us, but rather weapons with which we wage spiritual warfare. They can be of great value to us as we stand and contend for things the Lord has promised us because through the testimony God is actually revealing a piece of His nature. At Rooted Revivals, we believe that what anchors the movement of God is the character and nature of God and testimonies are a picture of what God is like. Not only are they beneficial as we contend for our own breakthroughs, but the tesimonies of what God has done in our lives can become a gift that we can release over others, because we know that what God has done for us, He is also willing to do for others as He is no respector of persons.

In light of all this, I'd love to share with you a testimony of something the Lord did in my own life recently, and I am believing that as you read this, the nature of a good Father would be released over you and into your situation.

Our family has been in a middle of a move. Several weeks ago, we heard the Lord speak to our heart, that He was asking us to relocate. We said yes to the call, and yet in the natural the odds of finding a place that would fit our financial situation seemed like an impossibility. But as you know, God works in the impossible and we found ourselves moving, and very quickly at that. That is a testimony for another time.

While I was in the process of moving, I realized that I was missing an earring. That is not completely out of the ordinary for me as my pairs of earrings can easily become like pairs of socks in the bottom of the laundry basket - over time, they lose their pairs. But this pair of earrings was different. I was missing one of the pair of earrings that I had gotten from Shiloh on our trip to Israel in January of 2020.

I turned 40 that year, and before we left, I felt like the Lord had given me a promise that I was stepping into Promised Land territory in my 40th year. In the process of unpacking this promise from the Lord, He had been using a picture of a pomegranate to speak to me. It was the symbolism of abundance in a fruit filled with so many seeds. So as we went on our trip, I began looking everywhere for a souvenir that could be a reminder to me of the promise of God. It turned out that it was rather difficult to find. But finally, I found a pair of earrings that fit what I was looking for.

And it turned out that even the place I found them was significant. Shiloh was the place where the Tabernacle rested for over 300 years. In the Most Holy Place inside the Tabernacle was the Ark of the Covenant which represented the very presence of God Himself! How fitting! The promise of God is not represented by treasures or or anything other than His presence! So in Shiloh I found a pair of silver pomegranate earrings. They were more than what I would have liked to spend, but my husband generously agreed that we should get them. They were a treasure that represented our trip the Holy Land and the promise of God over my life. So when I discovered that one of these earrings was missing in the middle of our move, I packed the one pomegranate earring, hoping that I'd find the other one.

Moving turned into quite a process of many days returning to the house to clean and grab more stuff. And then on the final day, I had finished all of my cleaning and was just getting ready to step into the vehicle to leave the house for one of the last times. As I stepped into the driveway, it was lightly snowing and something on the ground caught my eye. I looked down and it was the pomegranate earring. I could hardly believe it! In fact, part of me wondered if I had just dropped the one I had in the moving process. It turns out that I had passed it countless times as it lay in the dirt. It was missing for months and must've fallen out while I was getting kids and things out of the car.

But what a sweet God moment! Immediately, He began to speak to my heart reminding me of promises that felt lost or drug through the dirt. Through this act of kindness, He was telling me that the Promise Giver had not forgotten and the promises he had released those years ago were still ery much in tact. What was lost had been found!

I share this with you today because maybe you are in a season where the promises the Lord spoke to you at one time feel lost or forgotten. This testimony is for you too. The Promise Giver is continuing to whisper to your heart. He has not forgotten and what seems lost has never been. The promise is in tact in the safe-keeping of the Promise Giver and at the appropriate time it will be released. Trust His heart for you today! I release over you today that promises you thought were being lost are being found in the name of Jesus!
